Objective: To develop a comprehensive Green Energy Workforce Training and Placement Program focusing on solar, wind, and natural gas industries. The VISTA member will be instrumental in creating training coursework, conducting user acceptance testing, and establishing partnerships with local companies to facilitate apprenticeships and employment opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Training Coursework Development:
- Collaborate with industry experts to develop specialized training modules for solar, wind, and natural gas jobs.
- Ensure that the curriculum meets industry standards and prepares participants for real-world applications.
- Incorporate emerging technologies and best practices in green energy sectors into the coursework.
- User Acceptance Testing:
- Design and implement user acceptance testing (UAT) protocols to evaluate the effectiveness and user-friendliness of the training program.
- Collect feedback from participants and stakeholders to refine and improve the coursework.
- Work closely with instructors and technical teams to address any identified issues and enhance the learning experience.
- Partnership and Apprenticeship Development:
- Identify and establish partnerships with local solar, wind, and natural gas companies to support the program.
- Develop apprenticeship opportunities and job placements for program participants with partner companies.
- Coordinate with industry professionals to provide hands-on training, mentorship, and potential career pathways for participants.
- Program Evaluation and Improvement:
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of the training program and its participants.
- Gather and analyze data on participant outcomes, such as job placement rates and apprenticeship success.
- Use findings to make data-driven recommendations for program enhancements.
- Outreach and Engagement:
- Promote the Green Energy Workforce Training and Placement Program to local communities, educational institutions, and potential participants.
- Attend community events and job fairs to raise awareness and recruit participants.
- Develop promotional materials and maintain communication channels with stakeholders.
